Week 12: Updated app and final typography work.

The app was a simple matter of looking at it as an app for mobile devices rather than just a screen size, i’m quite happy with the result. Obvious pull from a looney tunes inspiration for the first screen and the rest although with placeholder text I feel the design is there.

And finally with my font here is the final practical applications and typographic alphabet.

Week 11: Presentation, Info Graphic and entirely new font

Presenting the info graphic went well, I got much needed feedback as although i finally had an idea I was struggling to fully work with it, in terms of multi format visualization anyway. Below is how the comic would look on desktop and you would just click and itd scroll to the next page.

And for the poster I tried to condense it but the main feedback was that it was still too word focused and not enough graphic work going on.

And finally my mobile version which was just an reiteration of the webcomic but in a different format. Not really much to behold and i’m going to change it entirely after feedback.

Also at around midnight the night before presentation upon reviewing my font I decided I no longer like it whatsoever and started a brand new fresh font, so I didn’t sleep before the presentation but I think I still managed to present fairly well. My new font still has basis in the viking realm but is a much more clinical and flat approach. Below isn’t the image I showed in the presentation however it is the very very first mock up. Obviously no where near complete but a slight feel can be got from it of what i’m aiming for. The reason i’m not uploading the one from the presentation is, I aren’t happy with it and am currently refining it and probably will be till the very last moment before upload.

Week 8: Infographic Research and Idea Block

Unfortunately despite thinking about it the majority of my waking ideas i’m yet to find an idea i’m excited about. I have ideas I could do and do them to a standard that they’d at least pass but they don’t excite me. For me I feel my best work comes from when I have an idea and my blood boils so I just have to get working on it, refining it till i’m happy and i’m not usually entirely happy and knit pick my own work a lot.

I’ve looked at some fonts though that I may incorporate into my infographic just basic science style fonts, have some reference images too and vectored and Einstein face but no spark yet. I’m aware in the working world that it doesn’t matter if I am excited for a project but usually despite the brief I can make it exciting for me, still not happened yet for this.

Week 7: Beginning of Multi-Format/Inforgraphic

This week we had our second brief explained to us. It’s to create a set of infographics for different screen sizes and media types. The infographic however is covering Einsteins Theory Of Relativity, I understand the brief and why it’s laid out how it is, it’s to train us in the ways a company or client would give us a task and with having studied physics in college i’m hoping to be able to apply some knowledge here. However translating it into minimal words and more pictures I feel may be an issue. Initial research found some great infographics, this one in particular I focused on a lot.

I like the different manners of design going on, the flat 2d integrated with 3d, the colour schemes throughout looks professional and informative.
